"I worked on a 13 sc base with every other row (ws) in straight sc.
To work the puff st (the filled squares on the graph)
I worked yo, insert hk into st, yo, pull thru st 5x, yo, pull thru all lps on hook .
Sc in all non puff sts (the blank squares on the graph)
I changing colors as I went along according to the graph.

Work a single crochet border around each square placing 3 sc in each corner.

Ch 4, join with sl st to form ring.

RND 1: Ch 2, yo insert hk thru ring, yo pull up lp 2x, yo pull thru all lps on hk, (beg cluster made), * ch 2, yo insert hk thru ring, pull up lp 3x, yo pull thru all lps on hk, (cluster made), ch 2,* rep from * to * until 8 clusters are made, join with sl st in top of beg cl. (8 cl, 8 ch 2 sps)

RND 2: Ch 5, dc in joining sp, ch 2, * cl in next sp, ch 2, cl in next space, ch 2 dc ch 2 dc, in top of next cl, (corner made) ch 2,* rep from * to * 3x, join in 3rd ch of ch 5 ( 8 cl, 12 ch 2 sps, 4 corners)

RND 3: sl st in corner sp, ch 3, 2 dc in same sp,* 2 dc next ch 2 sp, dc in top next cl, 2 dc next ch 2 sp, dc in top of next cl, 2 dc in next ch 2 sp, 3 dc in corner.* rep from * to * around ending 2 dc in last ch 2 sp, join with sl st in top of 1st ch 3.

RND 4: Ch 1, sc in same sp, 3 sc in next dc, * sc in next 10 dc, 3 sc in next dc*, rep from * to * 2x, sc next 9 dc, join with sl st in 1st sc. Fasten off.
