Drinking from My Saucer

by George McFee

Ed Gura is a very special friend of ours.
He came to visit us one day and brought along photos
of he and his friends on a mission trip to Jamaica.
Among the photos was one of George McFee, a very sweet man who
has leprosy. He also had a very touching poem that George had written
and I asked permission to share it with you.

Ed sent us a copy of the poem along with this note:

"Enclosed is a copy of the poem which you requested.
It was composed by George McFee, a resident at St. Monica's Home
which provides shelter for the abandon elderly and those afflicted with leprosy.
During our time there George recited several poems including this one,
which especially touched all of us gathered.
We were truly blessed to have met George this day
and offer thanks to God for gracing us with the opportunity
to be with our brothers and sisters of Jamaica by whom we were so blessed."

I hope that you find encouragement within the words of this poem
and I pray that God gives you all the blessings you are due.
