The following pattern is my original design.
Please only copy or print this pattern for personal use.
MATERIALS:
Steel Hook: Size 7
Yarn: Small amount of red, white and blue embroidery floss
Sewing needle & white thread
Stitches used: ch, sc.
Difficulty: EASY/MEDIUM (due to frequent color changes)
ROW 1: With Red, Ch 18, sc in 2nd ch from hk and in each ch across.
ROW 2: Attach White, ch 1, sc in each sc.
ROW 3: Attach Red, ch 1, sc in each sc.
ROW 4: Attach White, ch 1, sc in each sc.
ROW 5: Attach Red, ch 1, sc in each sc.
ROW 6: Attach White, ch 1, sc in each sc.
ROW 7: Attach Red, ch 1, sc in each sc.
ROW 8: Attach White, ch 1, sc in each of next 12 sc, attach Blue, sc in each of next 5 sc.
ROW 9: Ch 1, turn, sc in each of next 5 sc, attach Red, sc in each of next 12 sc.
ROW 10: Attach White, ch 1, sc in each of next 12 sc, attach Blue, sc in each of next 5 sc.
ROW 11: Rep Row 9.
ROW 12: Rep Row 10.
ROW 13: Rep Row 9.
FASTEN OFF
FINISHING: With white thread and a regular needle, randomly place knots for the stars in the blue square of the flag.
WEAVE IN ENDS
NOTE: You can use this flag as an applique on clothing, as a pin or a magnet. For the pin or magnet you may need to stiffen the project.
