Gnome No Sew Towel Topper Free Crochet Pattern

Designed for my Sister In Law, Dawn Johnson

 


The following pattern is my original design.
Please only copy or print this pattern for personal use.
Please contact me if you find any errors.

MATERIALS:

Red Heart Super Saver
   ( Anthracite - less than 2 ounces)
   ( Off White - small amount)
Hook Size G
Sewing Needle and Coordinating Thread
1" Button

Stitches: ch, sc, sc2tog, revhdc.
BLO= back loop only
FLO= front loop only

Difficulty:  MEDIUM


 

TOPPER:

R1: Ch3, sc in second ch from hook. 3sc in the next ch.
Working on opposite side of foundation chain, place 2sc in the next st. (6sc)

R2: Do not join. Place marker. Continue placing 1sc in ea sc. (6sc)

R3: Do not join. Place marker. Continue around, (2sc in next st. Sc in next 2sts) twice. (8sts)

R4: Do not join. Place marker. Continue around, (2sc in next st. Sc in next 3sts) twice. (10sts)

R5: Do not join. Place marker. Continue around, (2sc in next st. Sc in next 4sts) twice. (12sts)

R6: Do not join. Place marker. Continue around, (2sc in next st. Sc in next 5sts) twice. (14sts)

R7: Do not join. Place marker. Continue around, (2sc in next st. Sc in next 6sts) twice. (16sts)

R8: Do not join. Place marker. Continue around, (2sc in next st. Sc in next 7sts) twice. (18sts)

R9: Do not join. Place marker. Continue around, (2sc in next st. Sc in next 8sts) twice. (20sts)

R23: Do not join. Place marker. Continue around, (2sc in next st. Sc in next 22sts) twice. (48sts)

TOWEL LOOP

R24: Sc in BLO of next 3sts.

R25: Ch1, turn. Sc in 3sts.

Rs26-44: Rep R25.

R45: Being careful not to twist the towel loop.
Sk 21sts. Join the loop to the opposite side of the row:

(Sl st to join the BLO of each st on main row to both lps of ea st on the loop.)
Continue working around topper as follows:
Sc in ea rem st around placing a sc in the FLO of the 3sts by the lp. Sc in ea st to the point where you joined the loop to the topper. Sc in FLO of 3sts where loop was joined. (48sts)

R46: Do not join. Place marker. Sc in ea st. (48sts)

Rs47-50: Rep R46.

EDGE:

Sl st in next st. Ch2, do not turn. RevHdc in ea st around. Fasten off and weave in the end.

NOSE:

R1: 6sc in magic ring. (6sc)

R2: Do not join. Place marker. 2sc in ea st. (12sc)

R3: Do not join. Place marker. sc in ea st. (12sc)

R4: Rep R3.

R5: Do not join. Place marker. Sc2tog around. (6sts)
Sl st in next st. Fasten off leaving approximately 10" length for sewing.
Pull magic ring to close beg round. Stuff nose with small amount of same yarn. Sew yarn tail through last round and draw closed.

Sew nose on towel topper as seen in above photo.

Hanger:
Make a chain about 4" long and sew onto the point of the topper.

Sew button on the topper as seen in photo.
Insert towel through loop.
