Materials:
Size 10 Crochet Cotton: White, White Sparkle
No 1.75mm crochet hook
Fabric Stiffener
Special Stitches:
To make picot: sc, ch 3, sl st in last sc made.
Symbols:
ss - slip stitch, ch - chain, sc - single crochet, dc - double crochet
Bookmark approx. 8" long.
Row 1:
(Center): With Sparkle White ch 6, dc in 4th ch from hook, dc in last ch, (ch 3, turn, dc in next 2 dc, dc in top of ch 3) 15 times. Fasten off.
(Crossbar): Ch 8. With right side facing join with ss to 1st dc of last row. Ss in next 3 dc. Ch 10. Turn. Dc in 4th ch from hook and in each ch, 4 ss and last 8 ch (20 dc). End off.
(Top of Cross): With right side facing, join with ss over 9th dc. Ch 4, dc in next 3 dc, (ch 3, turn, dc in next 3 dc) 2 times. End off.
Row 2:
With plain White join with ss over last dc made. Ch 3, 2 dc over same dc, ch 3, skip next dc, 3 dc in next dc, ch 3, sc in corner, ch 3, 3 dc in 4th dc from corner, ch 3, 3 dc in top of end dc, ch 1, 3 dc in center of end, ch 1, 3 dc in bottom end dc, ch 3, 3 dc in 4th dc (to correspond to top (opposite) of crossbar), ch 3, sc in corner (ch 3, skip next dc, 3 dc in next dc) 7 times, ch 3, sc in corner, (ch 3, sk next dc, 3 dc in next dc) 7 times, ch 3, sc in corner, ch 3, 3 dc in 4th dc from corner, ch 3, 3 dc in bottom of end dc, ch 1, 3 dc in end, ch 1, 3 dc in top of end dc, ch 3, 3 dc in 4th dc (to correspond to bottom (opposite) of crossbar), ch 3, sc in corner, ch 3, skip next dc, 3 dc in next dc, ch 3, sk next dc, 3 dc in top dc, ch 1, 3 dc in next dc, ch 1, ss in top of 1st dc to join. End off.
Row 3:
With right side facing and Sparkle White, join in top of 1st dc. Ch 1, sc in same st, picot in next sc, sc in next sc, 3 sc in sp, sc in next 3 dc, pull up st in next 2 sp (corner), thread over and pull through all 3 sts on hook, sc in next 3 dc, 3 sc in sp, (sc in next dc, picot in next dc, sc in next dc, sc in ch 1 sp) 2 times, sc in next dc, picot in next dc, sc in next dc, 3 sc in next sp, dc in next 3 dc, pull up st in next 2 sps, thread over needle and pull through all 3 sts on hook, (sc in next 3 dc, 3 sc in next sp) 7 times, (sc in next 3 dc, sc in sp) 2 times, sc in next 3 dc, (3 sc in next sp, sc in next 3 dc) 7 times, pull up st in next 2 sps, thread over needle and pull through all 3 sts on hook, sc in next 3 dc, 3 sc in sp (sc in next dc, picot in next dc, sc in next dc, sc in ch 1 sp) 2 times, sc in next dc, picot in next dc, sc in next sc, 3 sc in next sp, sc in next 3 dc, pull up st in next 2 sps, thread over needle and pull through all 3 sts on hook, sc in next 3 dc, 3 sc in sp, (sc in next dc, picot in next dc, sc in next dc, sc in ch 1 sp) 2 times, ss in 1st sc to join. Fasten off.
Dampen with fabric stiffener and pin to shape. Let dry.
