GENERAL NEWS

Dear Subscriber:

The United States of America has experienced a great loss with the recent terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center buildings and the Pentagon! Please take time to pray for those who perished in this awful tragedy. Pray for the families who have lost loved ones. Pray for the rescue workers and pray for our "enemies". Pray that God will burden the hearts of our enemies and give our Government the wisdom to handle the situation.

September 11th... (9-11), will be remembered as a brutal attack on America...

God Bless America!

God Bless America!

WORDS OF ENCOURAGEMENT

I will lift up my eyes to the mountains; from whence shall my help come? My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth. He will not allow your foot to slip; He who keeps you will not slumber. Behold, He who keeps Israel will neither slumber nor sleep.

Psalm 121

To Thee I lift up my eyes, O Thou who are enthroned in the heavens! Behold, as the eyes of servants look to the hand of their master, as the eyes of a maid to the hand of her mistress; so our eyes look to the Lord our God, until He shall be gracious to us. Be gracious to us, O Lord, be gracious to us; for we are greatly filled with contempt, our soul is greatly filled with the scoffing of those who are at ease, and with the contempt of the proud.

Psalm 123

What the wicked fears will come upon him, and the desire of the righteous will be granted. When the whirlwind passes, the wicked is no more, but the righteous has an everlasting foundation.

Proverbs 10:24-25

Let every person be in subjection to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those which exist are established by God. Therefore he who resists authority has opposed to the ordinance of God; and they who have opposed will receive condemnation upon themselves. For rulers are not a cause of fear for good behavior, but for evil. Do you want to have no fear of authority? Do what is good, and you will have praise from the same; for it is a minister of God to you for good. But if you do what is evil, be afraid; for it does not bear the sword for nothing; for it is a minister of God, an avenger who brings wrath upon the one who practices evil.

Romans 13:1-4

"WHEN THE PRESSURE IS ON, PRESS ON!"

This quote is from Our Daily Bread - September, 2001 Issue.

Due to recent events... I feel compelled to repeat the quote from our last issue:

"WHEN WE KNOW GOD STANDS WITH US,
IT DOESN'T MATTER WHO STANDS AGAINST US."

Barb Shelton sent me a prayer for our nation.
Please take a moment to pray for our country.

Dear Heavenly Father,

We are moved by the alarming news and crisis that our country is facing.

This, the greatest nation, founded in the belief that "In God We Trust" & the "Land of the Free". Please have mercy on those suffering, hurting and in fear, and give wisdom & strength to those who are assisting. May the forces of evil be broken by your power and may we humble before thee, our strength and refuge.

Give wisdom to our President & our leaders and bring your comforting peace through the power of your Holy Spirit. Help us here to reach to those that have been affected by this tragedy.

In the name of our Lord and Savior, Christ Jesus. AMEN

God Bless America!

Please send this to all your friends and
create a prayer chain throughout
this nation.

Hi Lisa,
I've recently discovered a stitch that I really love and would love to
share with you. Linked-treble and linked-double. I've found them in an old
issue of Crochet Home (Oct-Nov 1992) They are both wonderful stitches,
fairly easy to master and make a wonderful fabric. I've designed a
washcloth using the linked-treble and it's amazing how quickly it works up!

CROCHET TIP:

Read over your crochet pattern before attempting to make the item indicated.
Some designers may use terms that stray from the standard abbreviations.
One abbreviations that I've noticed over time is "tc" for treble or triple crochet... the standard abbreviation being "tr".

WE'RE RUNNING OUT OF STITCHES TO FEATURE!

Dear Lisa,
I can't tell you how much I have enjoyed this site. It has been a big help
to me as I am just learning to crochet. I took a class at my local
community center and gave this site to the teacher and all the others in
the class. Keep up the good work.

P.S. Could you put in more EASY baby projects? I have a new (2 months old)
granddaughter and would like to make her things.

< reply >

Dear Concetta:

Thank you so much for such an inspiring email and for telling your classmates about Crochet 'N' More. It makes me feel so good to know I am helping others and the internet is definitely a great way to reach many.

I will definitely keep your pattern design request in mind when deciding on future designs.
Good luck with your new granddaughter and have a great day!

Lisa

Hi Schotzi's Mommie (Lisa?)

I stumbled upon your neat little pattern for a dog sweater and just had
to try it on my little Oscar. He's a wiener dog :-) This presented some
problems due to his additional length, but with a few modifications I
think I've created a pretty neat "wiener wrap."

I normally use sweatshirt sleeves for his everyday sweaters since they
are long and can be cut easily to fit. They also do not unravel where
the armholes have been cut, and they wash up like a dream. He is, after
all a little boy, and boys do like to go out and get really dirty all
the time, so they need LOTS of clean "clothes" :-)

I felt that he needed a really NICE sweater for going out in public
though. On the enclosed picture, you can see just how proud he is of his
new sweater.

Please post this picture on the page with all the other little cuties,
and I'll tell Oscar that he's going to be world famous.

Thanks for the pattern

Mrs. Eva Harr

HUMOR

Lip Stick

Mary Siegel was almost crazy with her three young kids. She
complained to her best friend, "They're driving me nuts!! Such pests.
They give me no rest and I'm half way to the funny farm."

"What you need is a playpen to separate the kids from yourself," her
friend said.

So Mary bought a playpen A few days later, her friend called to ask
how things were going.

"Superb! I can't believe it," Mary said. "I get in that pen with a
good book, a chocolate bar, and the kids don't bother me for hours!"

The highway patrolman spoted a car driving dangerously slow on a
much-traveled freeway. He pulled it over and found the driver to
be an elderly lady with four other older women as passengers.

"Lady," said the officer, "your slow driving is almost as
dangerous as speeders. You need to try to keep the speed limit."

"But I always keep the speed limit," replied the lady. "I was
doing the speed limit when you stopped me."

The officer asked, "What do you think the limit is on this road?"

The dear old lady said, "I just a moment ago saw the sign, U.S.
Highway 22."

"But lady," warned the officer, "that is the highway number, not
the speed limit"

The lady was very apologetic and, of course, no ticket was given.
The officer noticed that all the passengers seemed pale and had a
frightened look in their eyes. As he turned to leave the car,
wondering if his presence had been the problem, he turned again
and said to the driver, "Ma'am, are you sure all your passengers
are OK?"

"Oh, they will be in a few moments," she said, "we just turned
off Highway 120."

One evening a preschooler, Krystal, and her parents were sitting on
the couch chatting. Krystal asked, " Daddy, you're the boss of the
house, right?" Her father proudly replied, "Yes, I am the boss of
the house." But Krystal quickly burst his bubble when she added
"Cause Mommy put you in charge, huh Daddy?
