1-1/2" Offray Ribbon (Wired):

Hook Sizes G & H

Stitches: ch, sc, sl st, dc, rev sc.

Difficulty:  MEDIUM/DIFFICULT

R1: Using the H hook, with Aran, Ch 68. Sc in the hump of the second ch from the hook. Sc in the hump of ea rem ch. (67sc)

R2: Being careful not to twist R1. Sc in the first sc made on R1. Place Marker.
Sc in next 2 sts. With Claret, sc in 3sts.
(With Aran, sc in 3sts. With Claret, sc in 3sts) around to last st.
This leaves the last st unworked and helps to establish the diagonal striping pattern.

Rs3-12: -continuous round- Do not turn. With Aran, sc in 3sts. With Claret, sc in 3sts.
Keep alternating 3sts in Aran with 3sts of Claret.
The stripes should be in a diagonal pattern.
Reposition your marker as you go to help keep track of your rounds.

Rs13-50: Change to G hook and keep repeating the continuous round, ending with 2sts of Aran.
Place a marker in the last st.

R51: With both strands held tog, ch17. With Claret, sc in the second ch from the hook.
Sc in each of the next 2chs. With Aran, sc in 3chs. With Claret Sc in 3chs.
Work one Aran sc in the last of the 17 chs, one Aran sc in the side of the marked st, and one Aran sc in the next Aran sc on the main part of the stocking.

Work in PAT (keep the diagonal striping pattern)
Keep in PAT by working in the unworked lps of the 17chs you made for the toe.
Make sure the colors align along the sides of the toe.
(I had to sk the first st to get the colors to align)
Work 3 Aran sc in the end of the toe, changing to Claret in the last st.
Work 1 Claret sc in the same sp as the 3 Aran scs.

Rs52-61: Cont in PAT around.

R62: Keep working in PAT adding one extra sc in ea of the 5 center stripes on the toe.

Rs63:76: Work in PAT, end R76 at the tip of the toe.

DECREASE ROUND:
R77: Sc in all but the last sc of ea stripe, skipping the last st of each stripe. Change colors as in the striping pattern. (the skipped sts will decrease the round) Sl st in the next st. Ch1, turn.

TURN STOCKING INSIDE-OUT
Sc corresponding sts tog. Fasten off and weave in ends.
TURN STOCKING BACK.

CUFF:
R1: With opening facing you, join Aran with a sc in the BL only of the st at the front center of stocking.

R11: Do not turn. Sl st in next ch-sp. Ch3.
4dc in same ch-sp.
