MATERIALS:
Hook: Size H
Bernat Softee Baby
24" of Ribbon
Stitches used: ch, sl st, sc, dc, v-st.
Cross Stitch (cr st) : Sk next dc, dc in next dc, dc in dc just skipped.
Difficulty: MEDIUM
R1: Ch 4, 8dc in 4th ch from hook. Join with sl st in top of beg ch-4. (9dc)
R2: Ch3, dc in same st. 2dc in ea dc. Join with sl st in top of beg ch-3. (18dc)
R3: Ch3, dc in same st. 2dc in ea dc. Join with sl st in top of beg ch-3. (36dc)
R4: Ch3, dc in ea dc. Join with sl st in top of beg ch 3. (36 dc)
R5: Ch3, (2dc in next dc. Dc in next dc) around. Join with sl st in top of beg 3. (54 dc)
R6: Ch3, dc in dc to right of beg ch-3 (this forms the first cr st). (Cr st over 2 sts) around.
Join in top of beg ch-3.
R7: Sl st in next dc (this should be in the left dc of one cross stitch). Ch3, dc in dc to right of beg ch-3 to make the first cr st on this round. Cr st in each cr st. (27 cr sts) Join with sl st in top of beg ch-3.
R8: Rep R7.
R9: Ch4. 2tr in same st. 3tr in ea dc around. Join with sl st in top of beg ch-4.
Fasten Off.
FINISHING: Weave ribbon in and out of R8 and tie a bow.
This can be used to tighten the hat to the baby's head.
