MATERIALS:

Bernat Baby Coordinates (Sport Weight)
Hook Size F

Stitches: ch, dc, hdc, sc, tr.

Difficulty: EASY/MEDIUM

R1: Ch36, sc in 2nd ch from hook. Sc in next 7 chs. Hdc in next 8chs. Dc in next 10 chs. Tr in next 9 chs.

R2: Ch4, turn. (Counts as first tr). Tr in next 8 tr. Dc in next 10 dc. Hdc in next 8hdc. Sc in next 8 sc.

R3: Ch1, turn. Sc in next 8sc. Hdc in next 8hdc. Dc in next 10dc. Tr in next 9tr.

Rows 4-25: Rep R2 and R3.

R26: Rep R2.

Fasten off leaving a long strand for sewing seam. With Row 1 and Row 26 tog, sew corresponding sts tog.

Cut 20-12" pieces of yarn for top fringe. Sew along edge of top opening and draw it closed. Add the 20 strands of yarn to the top for the fringe. Trim if needed.

You can leave the top up or fold it over like a Santa Hat.
