Beaded Bookmark Crochet Pattern

The following pattern is my original design.
Please only copy or print this pattern for personal use.
Please contact me if you find any errors.

MATERIALS:

Bedspread Weight Cotton (Size 10) (small amount)
Steel Hook Size 1
Yarn Needle
Sewing Needle and thread (any color)
Three Beads (your choice as long as your thread fits through the center)

Stitches: ch, sc, dc.

Difficulty: MEDIUM

R1: Make a foundation chain approximately 24 inches long.
Sc in 2nd ch from hook. Sc in ea rem ch.

R2: Ch2, turn. Dc in ea st.

R3: Ch1, turn. Sc in ea st.

LOOP: Ch6, turn. Join with a sl st in the first sc at the end of R1 (opposite side).
Ch1, turn. 6sc in the ch6 lp. Sl st to first sc on that side.

Fasten Off.

Finishing: Using the same thread and yarn needle, sew the beads to the end of the bookmark opposite the loop end. (note: I used the sewing needle and thread to help me string the beads. Thread the sewing needle and put it through a bead, turn the needle to go back into the bead from the direction it just came out. Put the cotton thread in the loop made by the sewing thread and pull it through the bead.

Wrap the bookmark around the pages of your book and pull the beads through the loop to secure it.

HAPPY CROCHETING
