following pattern is my original design.

MATERIALS:
Red Heart Super Saver
Gray 1/4 oz
White 1/2 oz
Pink 1/4 oz
Hook Size I
Stitches: ch, sc, dc, sl st.
Techniques:
Join with a sl st to form a ring.
Crochet in ring.
Join in inner loops.
Join with sc.
Notes:
When a set of instructions is within parentheses you will be instructed what to do with those instructions directly after the ending parenthesis.
When an asterisk is used in a pattern you will be instructed to repeat instructions accordingly.

SMALL SQUARE
(Make 4... 2 with Gray and 2 with Pink)
R1: With Gray or Pink, Ch6.
Join with a sl st in the first ch to form a ring.
Ch1
(3sc in ring, Ch2) 4 times.
Join with a sl st in the first sc.
Fasten off.
Weave in Ends.
R2: With White, Join with a sc in any corner sp.
Dc in the next sc.
(Dc, ch2, dc) in the next sc.
Dc in the next sc.
* Sc in the next corner Ch-2 sp.
Dc in the next sc.
(Dc, ch2, dc) in the next sc.
Dc in the next sc.
Rep from * twice.
Join with a sl st in the first sc.
Fasten off.
Weave in ends.
Hold two small squares tog and sl st the inner lps tog using White.
Fasten off.
Repeat for remaining two small squares.
Hold both square sets together and join remaining edges through the inner loops to form a larger square.

Note: At the center point, place one sl st in the cor sts at each corner join.
EDGE
R1: Join White with a sc in any corner sp.
(Ch2, sc) in the same sp.
Sc in the next 5sts.
Sc in the next ch sp.
Ch1
Sc in the next ch sp.
Sc in the next 5sts.
* (Sc, ch2, sc) in the next corner sp.
Sc in the next 5sts.
Sc in the next ch sp.
Ch1.
Sc in the next ch sp.
Sc in the next 5 sts.
Rep from * twice.
Join with a sl st in the first sc.
Fasten off.
Weave in ends.
R2: Join Pink with a sc in any corner sp.
3sc in the same sp.
Sc in the next 7sc. (be careful not to skip the first sc)
2sc in the next ch sp.
Sc in the next 7sc.
* 4sc in the corner sp.
sc in the next 7sc.
2sc in the next ch sp.
Sc in the next 7sc.
Rep from * twice.
Join with a sl st in the first sc.
Fasten off.
Weave in ends.
