Christmas Kerchief


The following pattern is my original design.
Please only copy or print this pattern for personal use.
Please contactme if you find any errors.

 

MATERIALS:

Hook Size G

Lionbrand Chenille Sensations (less than one 1.4 oz skein)

Stitches Used: ch, sl st, sc, dc, v-st.
V-Stitch: (dc, ch 2, dc) in indicated stitch.
Note: the traditional v-st is worked the same except there's only 1 chain between the doubles.
I will abbreviate this v-stitch the same way (v-st).


Difficulty: EASY/MEDIUM

Pattern begins at point at bottom of kerchief.

Row 1: Ch 5, dc in 5th ch from hook. (v-st made) Ch 5, turn.

Row 2: Dc in same st as beg ch-5. V-st in 3rd ch of beg ch-5. Ch 5, turn. (2 v-sts)

Row 3: Dc in same st as beg ch-5. V-st between 2 v-sts on Row 2. V-st in 3rd ch of beg ch-5. Ch 5, turn. (3 v-sts)

Row 4: Dc in same st as beg ch-5. V-st between all v-sts on previous row. V-st in 3rd ch of beg ch-5. Ch 5, turn. (4 v-sts)

Rows 5-14: Rep Row 4. Note: Each new row will have the same number of v-sts as the row number, i.e. Row 5 has 5 v-sts... Row 6 has 6 v-sts, etc.

Do Not Fasten Off.

Ties and Edging are worked together. Ch 41, sl st in hump of 2nd ch from hook and in the hump of each rem ch. 2 sc in the chain-2 sp of each v-st and 1 sc between all v-sts across to last row. Ch 41, sl st in hump of 2nd ch from hook and in hump of each rem ch. Working down the side of the kerchief, * (sc, ch 4, sc) around st at end of each row. * (sc, ch 4, sc, ch 4, sc) in the stitch at the main point of the kerchief. Rep from * to * up other side. Join with sl st, fasten off and weave in ends.
