following pattern is my original design.

MATERIALS:
Caron Simply Soft ( Less than 3oz White )
Hook
Size G
7" Cardboard Cone (I recycled one I had from a cone of cotton yarn)
Yarn Needle
Stitches:
ch, dc, bpdc, fpdc, fpsc, sl st.
Difficulty: MEDIUM/DIFFICULT
R1: Ch32 (the foundation chain should wrap loosely around the base of the cone).
Join with a sl st in the first ch to form a ring, being careful not to twist.
Ch1, sc in ea sc around. (32sc)
Do not join.
Begin working in continuous rounds.
R2: Sc in blo of 14 sts.
Sc2tog. Sc in 14 sts. Sc2tog. (30sts)
R3: (Sc in 8sts. Sc2tog) 3x (27sts)
R4: (Sc in 7sts. Sc2tog) 3x (24sts)
R5: (Sc in 6sts. Sc2tog) 3x (21sts)
R6: Sc in blo of ea st. (21sts)
Rs7-11: Rep R6.
R12: (Sc in 5sts. Sc2tog) 3x (18sts)
Rs13-17: Rep R6. (18sts)
R18: (Sc in 4sts. Sc2tog) 3x (15sts)
R19: Rep R6. (15sts)
R20: (Sc in 3sts. Sc2tog) 3x (12sts)
R21: Rep R6.
R22: (Sc in 2sts. Sc2tog) 3x (9sts)
R23: Rep R6.
R24: (Sc in 1st. Sc2tog) 3x (6sts)
R25: Sc in ea st. (6sts)
Sl st in next st. Fasten off leaving 4" yarn tail.
Using the yarn needle, weave through the rem sts and draw the opening closed.
Working from bottom to top, reattach yarn in the unworked loop of the first sc made on R1.
(Ch2, sk next unworked lp, sl st in next unworked lp) until cone is covered.
At the last st you turn and work from the top back to the bottom.
Ch3, turn.
[Dc, (ch3, sc in 3rd ch from hook), 2dc] in ch2 sp.
Sc in next ch2 sp.
* [2dc, (ch3, sc in 3rd ch from hook), 2dc] in next ch2 sp.
Sc in next ch2 sp.
Rep from * until entire cone is covered.
Fasten off.
Optional:
Add miniature decorations: beads or tiny bows for ornaments and embroidery floss or specialty yarn for garland. Use your imagination.
NOTE: If you do not have a cardboard cone you can stuff the tree with plastic bags or make a cone using a regular piece of cardboard.
