SIZE: Finished size is 7 1/2" across

MATERIALS:
2 oz. 4 ply blue yarn
1 oz. 4 ply red yarn
1 yd. 1/4 wide red ribbon
2 1/2 inch clown face
G crochet hook or size needed to obtain gauge.

GAUGE: 4 dc sts = 1" rnd 1=1".

Rnd 1: With blue yarn ch 4, 7 dc in last chain, sl st in top of chain.

Rnd 2: Ch 3, 1 dc in same st, 2 dc in each of the remaining stitches, sl st in top of first st.

Rnd 3: Ch 3, 2 dc in same st *dc in next st, 2 dc in next st*; repeat between * *.
around, join with sl st in top of first st. (24 dc).

NOTE: Crochet rnd 4 in back of st only for this round.

Rnd 4: Ch 3, *2 dc in next st, 1 dc in next st*; repeat between * *.
around, join with sl st in top of first st, fasten off.

Rnd 5: Join red with sl st to any st, ch 1, sc in same st, skip next

st, *3 dc in next st, sc in next st*; repeat between *
*. around,
join with sl st in top of first st, fasten off.

Rnd 6: Join blue with sl st to middle dc of 3 dc group, ch 1,
sc in
same stitch, *3 dc in next sc, sc in middle dc of 3 dc
group*;
repeat
between * * around, join with sl st in top of first st, fasten off.

Rnd 7: Join red with sl st to any st, ch 1, sc in same st, sc in each
st around, sl st to first st, fasten off.

Rnds 8, 9 and 10: Working in front of st of round 3,repeat rounds 5, 6 and 7.

Finishing: With blue yarn chain 10. Run yarn under 2 dc of back of 2rd round, sl st to first ch. Place clown face in center so that center of the top of the face lines up with the loop attached to the back. Run red ribbon between rnds 8 and 9, tighten and make a bow.
