Crayon Purse

Large enough to hold a 24 ct box of crayons.
Measures approx 5"x6" w/o handle.

The following pattern is my original design.
Please only copy or print this pattern for personal use.
Please contactme if you find any errors.

 

MATERIALS:

Hook Size I

4 ply Cotton Yarn

Stitches Used: ch, sl st, sc, lsc.
LSC = Long Single Crochet: Insert hook in indicated stitch, yo,
draw a loop through (2 loops on hook), yo, draw through both loops on the hook.


Difficulty: EASY/MEDIUM

Row 1: With Blue, ch 50. Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each rem ch. Ch 1, turn.

Row 2: Sc in each st across. Ch 1, turn.

Row 3: Sc in each st across.

Row 4: Change to white. Sc in 1st st. * Lsc in next st 2 rows below. Sc in next st. Rep from * across. Ch 1, turn.

Row 5: Rep Row 2.

Row 6: Rep Row 3.

Row 7: Change to blue. Lsc in same st as beg ch-1 two rows below. * Sc in next st. Lsc in next st 2 rows below. Rep from * across. Ch 1, turn.

Row 8: Rep Row 2 using blue.

Row 9: Rep Row 3 using blue.

Rows 10-12: Rep Rows 4-6 using white.

Rows 13-15: Rep Rows 7-9 using blue.

Rows 16-18: Rep Rows 4-6 using white.

Rows 19-21: Rep Rows 7-9 using blue.

Row 22: Without cutting the yarn, sc evenly across the ends of rows 1-21.

FASTEN OFF

Fold piece with A over B and sc the sides tog. Part "c" is the flap for the purse.

HANDLE: Ch 65, sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each rem ch across. 3 sc in end ch. Working in the unworked lps on the foundation chain work a sc in each st. 3 sc in end. Join with sl st and fasten off.

FINISHING: Using coordinating yarn and a yarn needle, stitch the handle onto the outside of the purse.
