FLOWER

Flower

The following pattern is my original design.
Please only copy or print this pattern for personal use.
This pattern has not been tested so please contact me if you find any errors.

MATERIALS:

Hook: Size C

Yarn: Jamie Baby Yarn for the Flower & 4 ply worsted weight yarn for the leaves.

Stitches used: ch, sc, hdc, dc, fpdc, bpdc.

MC = Main Color (Peach Jamie Brand)
CC = Contrasting Color (Green Red Heart)

Yarn Needle
Pliers
One 6"-8" piece of 18 gauge floral wire.
Optional: Floral Tape

Difficulty: MEDIUM

FLOWER

RND 1: With MC, ch 4, 11 dc in 4th ch from hk. Join with sl st in top of beg ch 4. Do Not Turn.

RND 2: Sl st around post of beg ch 4 of previous round. Ch 3, bpdc around same st.
*Fpdc around next dc, bpdc around same dc. Rep from * around. Join with sl st in top of beg ch 3.

RND 3: * Ch 6, sc in 6th ch from hk. Sc in next st. Rep from * around.

FASTEN OFF.

Using a yarn needle, weave a strand of MC through round 2 and draw it tight to form the flower.

LEAVES

With CC, * Ch 6, sc in 2nd ch from hk, hdc in next ch, dc in next ch, hdc in next ch, sl st in last ch. Rep from * 3 times more. (4 leaves) Join with sl st in base of 1st leaf.

FASTEN OFF -- Leaving about a 4" tails.

Use Yarn tails on leaves to fasten the leaves to the base of the flower.

STEM

Insert wire through center of flower. Using pliers, curl the end of the wire over at the top end of the flower so you can only pull it back into the middle of the flower (not all the way out) just so the curled part doesn't show.

Using CC, pull yarn tail - 6"-8" through center of leaves toward base of flower. Now hold that strand parallel (between two leaves) with the wire and twirl the stem so the yarn covers it entirely. Secure the end with tape or glue.

ALTERNATIVE: use floral wire for the previous step or buy the stems that are vinyl coated.

NOTE: Make several flowers in different colors for a festive bouquet!
Just tie them together with a coordinating ribbon.
