MATERIALS:
Small amount of worsted weight cotton yarn

Crochet hook size J

Experiment with different hook sizes and yarns or even thread.
You can
come up with many different sizes that way, including
a very small thread
snowflake instead of a coaster.

Ch 4, sl to join.

Rnd 1: Ch 3 (counts as first dc here and after), 11 dc in circle; sl to beg to join. (12 dc)

Rnd 2: Ch 3 and 2 dc in beg dc, ch 2, sk next dc; *3 dc in next dc, ch 2, sk next dc; repeat from * until you reach the end of the rnd; sl to beg dc to join. (6 sets of 3 dc and 6 ch2 sps)

Rnd 3: Ch 3 and 2 dc in beg dc, sl st in next dc, 3 dc in next dc, sl st in next ch 2 sp; *3 dc in next dc, sl st in next dc, 3 dc in next dc, sl st in next ch 2 sp; repeat from * until you reach the end of the rnd; sl to beg dc to join. (12 sets of 3 dc and 12 sl sts)
