Finish the edge on R1 by sewing the beg yarn tail through the first and last sts to join them. Weave in rem yarn.

Handle = 1 black pipe cleaner and 1 twisted cord.

TWISTED CORD
Cut approximately 60" of each color yarn. Fold in half and twist until it will twist back on itself.
When it's ready to twist, hold the center and bring the ends together to allow it to twist. Secure the cut ends with a knot.

Wrap the pipe cleaner with the twisted cord inserting each end of the pipe cleaner through each end of the cord. Attach each end of the pipe cleaner to opposite sides of the basket by inserting the end through a stitch on the basket edge, fold up the pipe cleaner and twist it secure it.
