following pattern is my original design.

MATERIALS:
Red Heart Baby Yarn (Black with shiny thread - less than 6 ounces)
Red Heart Sport Yarn (Black - less than 6 ounces)
P Hook
Ball Elastic Hair Band
(Like the one in this picture)
Stitches: ch, sc, scps, sl st.
Difficulty:
DIFFICULT
NOTE: Entire pattern is worked holding two strands of yarn together.... one strand of each kind.
PANEL ONE
R1: Ch18, sc in the second ch from the hook. Sc in ea rem ch. (17sc) [right side]
R2: Ch1, turn. Sc in the first st. (ScPs in next st. Sc in next st) across (17sts)
R3: Ch1, turn. Sc in ea st. (17sts)
Repeat Rs 2&3 Nine times.
Fasten off.
PANEL TWO
Work the same as panel one but do not fasten off.
ASSEMBLY
Hold Panel One and Panel Two with wrong sides tog.
Sc evenly through corresponding sts down the side, across the bottom and up the other side, placing extra stitches in the corners.
This will leave the top edge open.
Do not fasten off.
TOP EDGE TRIM
Ch1, working in the sts on the Panel closest to you, sc in ea st all around the top edge.
Join with a sl st.
Fasten off.
CLOSURE
The closure for the top edge of this pattern is a hair accessory.
I pushed the ball on one end through corresponding stitches near the center top edge and then looped one over the other. (see above photo)
