Juleeann's Ruffled Hat Crochet Pattern (child)

Measures
8-1/2" wide just before ruffle
and
7" from top to bottom including the ruffle


The following pattern is my original design.
Please only copy or print this pattern for personal use.

MATERIALS:

Bernat Baby Coordinates ( Approximately 2oz Pink)
Hook Size H
Yarn Needle
1" Ribbon (34")

Stitches: ch, dc, sl st.

Difficulty: MEDIUM


R1: Ch2, 8sc in 2nd ch from hook.

R2: Do not join. Begin working in continuous rounds
and place a marker in the first stitch on each new round.
(2sc in first sc. Sc in next sc) around. (12sc)

R3: Rep R2. (18sc)

R4: Rep R2. (27sc)

R5: Do not join. (Sc in next 2sts. 2sc in next st.) around. (36sc)

R6: Rep R5. (48sc)

R7: Do not join. (Sc in next 5 sts. 2sc in next st.) around. (56sts)

R8: Do not join. Sc in ea sc. (56sc)

R9: Rep R8. (56sc)

R10: Do not join. (Sc in next 6 sts. 2sc in next st) around. (64sts)

Rs11-24: Rep R8. (64sts)

R25: -Eyelet Round-
Sl st in next st. Ch4 (counts as 1dc and 1ch).
Sk next st. Dc in next st. (Ch1, sk next st. Dc in next st) around.
Join with sl st in third ch of beg ch4. (32dc and 32 ch1-sps)

R26: Do not turn. Sl st in next ch1-sp. Ch3, 2dc in same sp. 3dc in ea rem ch1-sp.
Join with sl st in top of beg ch3.

R27: Sl st bet next 2sts. Ch3, do not turn. Dc in same sp.
(2dc bet next 2sts) around.
Join with a sl st in top of beg ch3.

Fasten off.

FINISHING

Weave ribbon through stitches on the eyelet round and tie in a bow.
This hat can be made somewhat smaller by drawing the ribbon tighter
before tying the bow.
