The following pattern is my original design.
Please only copy or print this pattern for personal use.
This pattern has been tested by Pepper Hampton but feel free to contact me if you find any errors.
"Hi! I am trying to work the Lacy Placemat, and I think there is an error on
Row 2. There has to be a Chain 1 between the double crochet stitches, or
the work is cut in half and the remaining rows will not work. It worked out
fine when I added the Chain 1 to Row 2 and the rows following... Pepper"
MATERIALS:
Hook: Size J
Yarn: Red Heart Super Saver
MC = white
CC = hunter green
Stitches used: ch, sl st, sc, dc.
Difficulty: EASY
ROW 1: With MC, ch 59, dc in 5th ch from hk, * ch 1, sk next ch, dc in next ch. Rep from * across.
Ch 4, turn.
ROW 2: * Sk next ch 1 sp, dc in next dc, ch 1. Rep from * across placing the last dc in the 3rd ch of the beg ch 4 of previous row. Ch 4, turn. (counts as 1st dc and ch 1)
ROWS 3-15: Rep Row 2.
Fasten off and weave in ends.
BORDER:
Note: Border is worked in the chain 1 spaces across top and bottom & around the post of each dc down each side.
CORNER = (2dc, ch 1, dc, ch 1, 2 dc) in corner sp.
With CC, attach yarn with a sl st in the top right hand corner of the placemat. Ch 2 (this is the 1st dc), dc in same st. * 2dc in each ch 1 sp across to corner. Work corner. 2 dc around the post of each dc down the side. Worker corner. 2 dc in each ch 1 sp across to next corner. Work corner. 2 dc around post of each dc up the other side. Complete last corner (2 dc, ch 1, dc, ch 1) and join with a sl st in the top of the 1st dc.
FASTEN OFF.
