Magnolia Blossom Crochet Pattern

Measures 6-1/2 diameter


The following pattern is my original design.
Please only copy or print this pattern for personal use.
Please contact me if you find any errors.

MATERIALS:

Red Heart Super Saver-4ply worsted weight
      (Aran - less than 1oz - [MC]
      (Random Pink/Melon color -- label missing -- less than 1/4 oz [CC]
G Hook

Stitches: ch, esc, sc, sc2tog, sl st.

Difficulty:  MEDIUM


PETALS
(Make 9)

R1: With MC, Ch4. Sc in the hump of the 2nd ch from the hook.
Sc in ea rem ch. (3sc)

R2: Ch1, turn. 2sc in first st. Sc in ea st across to last.
2sc in last. (5sts)

R3: Ch1, turn. Sc in ea st. (5sts)

R4: Rep R2. (7sts)

R5: Rep R3. (7sts)

R6: Ch1, turn. Sc2tog. Sc in ea st across to last 2sts.
Sc2tog (5sts)

R7: Rep R3. (5sts)

R8: Ch1, turn. Sc2tog. Sc in next st. Sc2tog. (3sts)

R9: Ch1, turn. Sc in first st. Esc in next st. Sc in last st.

EDGE: Ch1, do not turn. Sc evenly around placing 2sc in ea of the corner sts on R1.

Fasten off.

CENTER POM PON: Wrap CC yarn 50 times around a 16.9 oz water bottle.
Remove. Tie center, Cut ends, fluff it out and trim it to the desired shape.

MAIN CENTER: Using MC, ch3. Sc in first ch. Sc in a continuous round until piece is +/- 1/2" long. Fasten off. Pull the beginning yarn tail through the center and tie onto the pom pon by attaching it around the center tie strip of the pom pon.

ASSEMBLY: Using a yarn needle and the MC yarn, join 6 petals together to form the base. Join the remaining 3 petals to the base at every other intersection. Tie the Pom Pon to the center of the petals.
