Patriotic Hairbow

The following pattern is my original design.
Please only copy or print this pattern for personal use.
Please contactme if you find any errors.

MATERIALS:

Scrap Yarn
(for the one in the photo I used Red Heart Super Saver in Blue and Red... and Bernat Baby Sparkle in White.)
Hook Size G

Stitches: ch, sl st, sc, hdc, dc.

Difficulty: EASY-MEDIUM

NOTE: You can use red, white or blue for the base.

BASE:

R 1: With Blue, join the yarn to the elastic band with a sl st. Work 6 sc around the band. Ch 1, turn.

R 2: Sc in 1st st, hdc in next st, 3 dc in next 2 sts, hdc in next st, sc in last st.

FASTEN OFF.

FRINGES:
Cut 10" lengths of all colors. Holding one strand of each color together,
add fringe to each stitch on the last row and in each row end in the following manner:
Fold the three strands in half. With right side facing, insert hook in any stitch along the edge. Draw the folded ends of the yarn up through the stitch and pull the loose ends through the folded end. This completes a fringe and all you need to do is tighten up the knot by pulling on the strands of yarn. Continue with this method in each stitch along edges. You can trim the ends even with scissors after all fringes are added.
