Ring in the Middle Afghan Square Crochet Pattern

6" Square


The following pattern is my original design.
Please only copy or print this pattern for personal use.
Please contact me if you find any errors.

MATERIALS:

Red Heart 4 ply WW Yarn (green and white)
Hook Size K

Stitches: ch, sl st, sc, dc.

Difficulty:  MEDIUM


R1: With green, ch5, join to form a ring. 12sc in ring. Join with sl st. [right side]

R2: Ch3, do not turn. (Dc, ch2, 2dc) in same st.
* Ch2, sk 2 sc.
(2dc, ch2, 2dc) in next sc.
Rep from * 2 times.
Ch2, sk last scs.
Join with sl st in top of beg ch3.

Fasten off.

R3: With right side facing, join white with a sl st in
any corner ch2 sp. Ch3, (dc, ch2, 2dc) in same st.
*Working over the ch sts on the side, sc in both unworked sc on R1.
(2dc, ch2, 2dc) in next corner ch sp. Rep from * 2 times.
Working over the ch sts on side, sc in both unworked ch sts on the side.
Sc in both unworked sc on R1.
Join with sl st in top of beg ch.
Fasten off.

R4: With right side facing, join green with sl st in any corner ch2 sp.
Ch3, (dc, ch2, 2dc) in same sp.
* Sk next 2sts on white row.
Sk next st on green row.
2dc in next green st. Ch2.
Sk next 2sts on white row.
2dc in next dc on green row. **
Sk next green st.
Sk 2 shite sts.
(2dc, ch2, 2dc) in corner ch2 sp.
Rep from * twice.
Rep from * to ** once.
Join with sl st in top of beg ch3.

R5: Ch3, do not turn. Dc in ea dc.
(2dc, ch2, 2dc) in ea corner ch2 sp.
2dc in ea sice ch2 sp.
Join with sl st in top of beg ch3.

R6: Ch1, do not turn. Sc in ea st around, placing 6sc in ea corner ch sp.
Join with sl st in first sc.

Fasten off.
