THIS PREEMIE HAT IS FOR A HEAD CIRCUMFERENCE OF 9-1/4" - 13-1/2".
THIS PATTERN CAN ALSO BE USED FOR DOLLS.
MATERIALS:
Hook: Size E
Yarn: Jamie Baby Yarn - Peach
Stitches used: ch, sl st, hdc, hdc dec, dc, love knot.
HDC DEC [ Yo, insert hk in next st, yo and draw lp through (twice), yo & draw through all 5 lps on hook.
Love Knot (ch 1 loosely, sc in the hump on the back of the chain).
Difficulty: EASY
RND 1: Ch 3, 11 hdc in 3rd ch from hk. Join with sl st in top of beg ch 3.
RND 2: Ch 2, turn, hdc in same st as beg ch 3, 2 hdc in each hdc around. (24 hdc). Join with sl st in top of beg ch 2.
RND 3: Ch 2, turn, hdc in same st as beg ch 2. * Hdc in next hdc, 2 hdc in next hdc. Repeat from * around. Hdc in last hdc. Join with sl st in top of beg ch 2.
RND 4: Ch 2, turn, hdc in same st as beg ch 2. * Hdc in next 2 hdc, 2 hdc in next hdc. Repeat from * around. Hdc in last 2 hdc. Join with sl st in top of beg ch 2.
RND 5: Ch 2, turn, hdc in same st as beg ch 2. * Hdc in next 2 hdc, 2 hdc in next hdc. Repeat from * around. Hdc in last hdc. Join with sl st in front loop of the top of beg ch 2.
RND 6: Ch 2, Do Not Turn, hdc in the front lp of each hdc around. Join with sl st in top of beg ch 2.
RND 7: Ch 2, turn, hdc in each hdc. Join with sl st in top of beg ch 2.
RND 8: Ch 2, turn. * Hdc dec over next 2 sts. Repeat from * around. Join with sl st in top of beg ch 2.
RND 9: Ch 2, turn. Hdc in each st around. Join with sl st in top of beg ch 2.
RND 10: Ch 2, turn. Hdc in same st as beg ch 2. 2 hdc in each st around. Join with sl st in top of beg ch 2.
RND 11: Ch 2, turn. Hdc in each hdc. Join with sl st in top of beg ch 2.
RND 12: Rep Rnd 11.
RND 13: Ch 3, turn. * Sk next hdc, dc in next hdc, ch 1. Repeat from * around. Join with sl st in 2nd ch of beg ch 3.
RND 14: Sl st in next ch 1 sp. Ch 3, (dc, ch 2, 2 dc) in same sp as beg ch 3. (2dc, ch 2, 2dc) in each ch 1 sp around. Join with sl st in top of beg ch 3.
FASTEN OFF
TIE STRING: Do a string of love knots approximately 24" long. Weave string through the openings in Rnd 13, draw up to desired size and tie a bow.
