School Spirit Skirt

The following pattern is my original design.
Please only copy or print this pattern for personal use.
Please contact me if you find any errors.

MATERIALS:

Red Heart Super Saver - 4 ply WW Yarn (your school colors)
Hook Size K

Stitches: ch, sl st, sc, sc2tog.

Difficulty:  MEDIUM

BAND:

R1: Ch10, sc in 6th ch from hook. Sc in ea rem ch.

R2: Ch1, turn. Sc in next 5 sc.

R3: Ch4, turn. Sc in next 5sc.

Rep R2 & R3 until the band will fit around the intended person.

Do not fasten off.

FIRST TIE:

R1: Ch1, turn. Sc2tog. Sc in next sc. Sc2tog.

Rs2-40: Ch1, sc in ea st. (3sc)

Fasten Off.

SECOND TIE:

With ch4 lps on the left reattach yarn in the first unworked loop on the foundation row.

R1: Ch1, sc2tog, sc in next sc, sc2tog.

Rs2-40: Ch1, sc in ea st. (3sc)

Fasten off.

FRINGE:

Cut 6 white and 3 red strands of yarn that
measure 32" (or whatever length you would like) for each fringe.

Attach all 9 strands at once in one of the ch4 lps on the edge of the band by
folding the 9 strands in half with six inches on one side of the fold. Then, insert
the hook into the ch4 sp, draw the fold of the fringe through the ch4 sp.
Yarn over all ends of the fringe and draw them all through the fold to make a knot.

If you want your fringe to look fuller you can add more strands per fringe OR
add more fringe in the row ends bet the ch4 sps along the band edge like I did.
