Scrap Happy Mug Rug Free Crochet Pattern

Measures 6-1/2" x 3-3/4"

This is a great pattern to use up small scraps of yarn.

The following pattern is my original design.
Please only copy or print this pattern for personal use.
Please contact me if you find any errors.

MATERIALS:

Red Heart Super Saver-4ply worsted weight
Mix and match colors depending on your scrap yarn colors.
I used: C1 = Gray C2=Red C3=White C4=Black

Hook Size H/8 5.00MM

Stitches: ch, sc, sl st.

Difficulty: EASY

NOTE: Leave at least a 2" yarn tail on each end of every row. This will be the fringe.

R1: With C1, Ch16. Sc in the hump of the 2nd ch from the hook.
Sc in the hump of ea rem ch. (15sc) -RS-
Fasten off.

R2: With RS facing, Join C2 with a sc in the first st.
(Ch1, sk next st. Sc in next st.) across. (8sc & 7-ch1 sps)
Fasten off.

R3: With RS facing, join C3 with a sc in the first sc.
(Sc in next ch-1 sp. Sc in next st.) across. (15sc)
Fasten off.

R4: With C4 Rep R2.

R5: With C1, Rep R3.

R6: With C2, Rep R2.

R7: With C3, Rep R3.

R8: With C4, Rep R2.

R9: With C1, Rep R3.

R10: With C3, Rep R2.

R11: With C3, Rep R3.

R12: With C4, Rep R2.

R13: With C1, Rep R3.

No border on this project. I did add extra fringe to each end using C1.
You can add fringe in any color you want.

Fasten off.

FRINGE: Cut a pieces of yarn approximately 4 inches long. Insert hook in the stitch. Fold the strand of yarn in half. Using the hook, draw the folded ends of the yarn up through the stitch and pull the loose ends through the folded end. This completes a fringe and all you need to do is tighten up the knot by pulling on the strands of yarn. Continue with this method until you have added all of your fringe. You can trim the ends even with scissors after all fringes are added.
