Keep insects out of your glass with this handy topper. It fits loosely on top of your glass and can also be turned over and used as a coaster. |
The following pattern is my original design.

MATERIALS:
4 Ply Cotton
Hook: Sizes G & D
18 Star Beads (or the beads of your choice)
Stitches used: ch, sl st, sc.
Difficulty: EASY/MEDIUM
R1: Using a G Hook, ch 2, 6 sc in 2nd ch from hook. Do Not Turn. Place Marker.
R2: 2 sc in ea st. Do Not Turn. Place Marker.
R3: (2sc in next st, sc in next st) around, Do Not Turn. Place Marker.
R4: (2sc in next st, sc in next 2 sts) around, Do Not Turn. Place Marker.
R5: (2sc in next st, sc in next 3 sts) around, Do Not Turn. Place Marker.
R6: (2sc in next st, sc in next 4 sts) around, Do Not Turn. Place Marker.
R7: (2sc in next st, sc in next 5 sts) around, Do Not Turn. Place Marker.
R8: (2sc in next st, sc in next 6 sts) around, Do Not Turn. Place Marker.
R9: (2sc in next st, sc in next 7 sts) around, Do Not Turn.
Sl st in next st.
R10: (Ch 5, sk 2 sts, sc in next st) around to last 2 sts. Ch 5, sk last 2 sts and join with a sl st at the base of the beg ch-5.
Switch to the D hook:
R11: (Sc in next ch-5 sp. Place bead on hook. Yo, draw loop through bead and through loop on the hook. Sc in same ch-5 sp.) around. Join with sl st in base of first sc made.
Fasten Off.
