The following pattern is my original design.
I made this pattern so we can give our soldiers something they can carry with them to remind them we care.
Please copy or print this pattern for yourself or anyone you think would like to make these for our dedicated soldiers. Please do not sell this pattern or post it on a website or elsewhere.

MATERIALS:
Cotton Floss (1-8.75 yd skein of red, white & blue)
Steel Hook - Size 2
Small Craft Stone (or gravel)
Stitches Used: ch, sl st, sc, sc dec, dc, love knot.
| LOVE KNOT | - Ch 1 loosely, sc in the hump on the back of the ch. |
Difficulty: EASY/MEDIUM
Pattern is worked in a continuous unless otherwise indicated.
R1: With blue, ch 2, 8 sc in 2nd ch from hook. Do not join. Place Marker (8sc)
R2: 2 sc in ea sc. Place Marker. (16sc)
R3. (Sc in next st, 2 sc in next st) around. Place Marker (24 sc)
R4: (Sc in next 2 sts, 2 sc in next st) around. Join with sl st in marked stitch. (32sc)
Fasten Off.
R5: Join White in any st. Sc in each st around. Place Marker (32sc)
R6-10: Sc in ea st. Place Marker.
R11: (Sc dec over next 2 sts, sc in next st) around. Sl st in marked st.
Fasten Off.
R12: Join Red in any st. Ch 3, dc in ea st. Join with sl st in top of Ch 3.
R13: (Love Knot, sc) in ea st around. Join with sl st in first st of this round.
Fasten Off.
FINISHING: Weave a strand of blue in and out of R12. Insert craft stone or gravel, draw the pouch closed and tie a bow. Tie on the following poem:
