Spikes and Puffs Baby Afghan Square Free Crochet Pattern

Measures
5" x 5 "

The following pattern is my original design.
Please only copy or print this pattern for personal use.
Please contact me if you find any errors.

 

MATERIALS:

Bernat Baby Coordinates (White, Blue and Pink - less than 1/4 ounce each)
Hook Size G

Stitches: ch, sl st, lsc, sc, sc dec, scps

LSC = Insert hook in indicated stitch, yo, draw a loop through (2 loops on hook), yo, draw through both loops on the hook. A Long Single Crochet Stitch is worked the same as a regular single crochet stitch, except... it is worked in a stitch on a row below the normal working row.

SCPS = (Yarn over, pull up a loop) 4 times, 9 loops on hook,
yarn over, pull thru 8 loops,
yarn over, pull thru 2 loops,
push puff to front of work, work next stitch in your pattern.


Difficulty: MEDIUM


R1: With White, ch18, sc in the second ch from the hook.
Sc in ea rem ch. (17sc)

Rs2-4: Ch1, turn. Sc in ea st. (17sc)

Fasten off.

R5: Join Blue, Ch1, Sc in same st.
(Lsc in the next st, two rows below. Sc in next st.) across (9sc & 8lsc)

R6: Ch1, turn. Sc in the same st. Sc in the next st.
(Scps in the next st. Sc in the next st.) across to last st.
Sc in the last st.

R7: Ch1, turn. Sc in ea st.

R8: Rep R7.

Rs9-12: Join White. Rep Rs5-8.

Rs13-16: Join Pink. Rep Rs5-8.

R17: Join White. Rep R5.

Rs18-20: Rep R7.

EDGE: Ch1, turn.
Sc in ea st and in ea row end around, placing 3sc in ea corner.

Join with a sl st in the first sc.

Fasten off.
