Spike Stitch Gift Pouch Free Crochet Pattern

6" x 7-1/2"


The following pattern is my original design.
Please only copy or print this pattern for personal use.
Please contact me if you find any errors.

MATERIALS:

Red Heart Super Saver -4ply worsted weight yarn
   approximatley 1 oz of White and 1 oz of Red
Hook Size H/8-5.00MM
yarn needle

Stitches: ch, dc, lsc, sc.

Difficulty: DIFFICULT


PANELS (Make 2... do not fasten off on the last one.)

R1: With Red, Ch18. Sc in the 2nd ch from the hook. Sc in ea rem ch. (17sts)

R2: Ch1, turn. Sc in ea st.

R3: Change to White, ch1, turn.
Sc in the first 4sts. Lsc two rows below next st.
Note: When working a Lsc, skip the stitch you work below
(Sc in the next 3sts. Lsc two rows below the next st.) two times.
Sc in the last 4sts.

R4: Ch1, turn. Sc in ea st across. (17sts)

R5: Change to Red, Ch1, turn. Sc in the next 2sts.
(Lsc two rows below next st. Sc in the next 3sts.) three times.
Lsc two rows below next st. Sc in the last 2sts.

R6: Ch1, turn. Sc in ea st.

Rs7-8: Rep Rs 3-4.

Rs9-10: Rep Rs 5-6.

Rs 11-12: Rep Rs3-4.

Rs 13-14: Rep Rs 5-6.

Rs 15-16: Rep Rs3-4.

Rs 17-18: Rep Rs 5-6.

Rs 19-20: Rep Rs3-4.

Rs 21-22: Rep Rs 5-6.

Rs23-24: Rep Rs 3-4.

R25: EYELET ROW
Ch4 (counts as 1dc), turn.
(Sk next st. Dc in next st.) across.

R26: Ch1, turn. Sc in ea st and ch-sp across to beg ch4.
Sc in the ch sp, sc in the 3rd ch of the beg ch4.
(17sts)

Fasten off.

JOINING

Hold 2 panels tog, sc through cor sts along the sides and bottom, placing 3sc in ea corner.

Fasten off.

TIE

With Red, Ch2, sc in the 2nd ch from hook.
(Ch1, turn. Sc in sc.) until tie is 24" long.

FINISHING

Weave through spaces on Eyelet Row and tie a bow.
