MATERIALS:
Red Heart
Super Saver - 4ply Worsted Weight Yarn
1 ounce of white - MC
1
ounce of blue - CC
Hook Size K
Stitches: ch, dc,
sc, sl st, tr.
Difficulty: MEDIUM
R1: Ch5, (Dc, ch1) 9 times
in the 5th ch from the hook.
Join with sl st in 4th ch of beg ch5. (10dc & 10 chsps)
R2: Do not turn. Sl st in
next ch1 sp. Ch3, dc in same sp. Ch1.
(2dc in next ch1 sp, ch1) around.
Join with sl st in top of beg ch3.
R3: Do not turn. Ch3, (Sc
in next dc, ch3) around.
Join with sl st at base of beg ch3.
R4: Do not turn. Sl in next
ch3 sp. Ch4.
(Tr, ch2, 2tr) in same sp. [corner made]
Ch1. (2dc in next ch sp, Ch1) 4 times.
* (2tr, ch2, 2tr) in next ch sp. [corner made]
(2dc in next ch sp, ch1) 4 times.
Rep from * around.
Join with sl st in top of beg ch4.
(Piece should be square now.)
CENTER STAR BURST
Working between R1 and R2
to form the design.
Join CC with a sl st around the post of one dc on R1.
Ch3, sl st in the ch sp directly across from it on R2.
Ch3, sl st around the post of the next dc on R1.
* Ch3, sl st in next ch sp on R2.
Ch3, sl st around the post of the next dc on R1.
Rep from * around.
Fasten off.
BORDER
R1: Join CC with sl st in
any dc or tr st.
Sc in ea dc and in ea tr st around, skipping all ch sps along the sides.
For each corner, work (2sc, ch2, 2sc) in the corner ch sp.
Join with sl st.
R2: Ch1, do not turn. Sc
in ea st along the sides.
(2sc, ch1, 2sc) in ea corner.
Join with sl st in first sc made.
Fasten off.
