STOCKING ORNAMENT

NOTE: Size depends on type of yarn and size of hook.

 

Stocking Christmas Ornament Crochet Pattern

 

The following pattern is my original design and can only be copied or printed for personal use.

 

MATERIALS:

Hook: Size G

Yarn: 4 ply worsted weight yarn for the boot (I used Red Heart Super Saver),
and 3 ply sport weight yarn for the white trim ( I used Red Heart Baby Sport Pompadour)

Stitches used: ch, sl st, sc, tr.

Difficulty: Easy


With Red, Ch 10, join with sl st in first ch to form a ring.

RND 1: Sc in each ch around. (10 sc) Join with sl st in top of first sc.

RND 2-6: Repeat RND 1.

RND 7: Sc in next sc. Tr in each of the next 5 sc. Sc in next sc. Ch 1, turn. (this leaves 3 stitches unworked)

RND 8: Sc in next sc. Tr in each of the next 5 tr. Sc in next sc. Ch 1, turn.

RND 9: Sc in each st around, including the 3 stitches left unworked on rnd 7 (10 sc). Join with sl st in first sc. Ch 1, turn.

RND 10-11: Repeat RND 9.

RND 12: * Decrease over the next 2 sc. Repeat from * around. Join with sl st in first decrease st. Ch 1, turn.

RND 13: Repeat RND 12.

FASTEN OFF.

RND 14: With White, * Ch 1, work long sc between next 2 sc on the row below the top. Repeat from * around. (See the photo to better explain this RND). End with Ch 1 and sl st to the first sc. DO NOT FASTEN OFF.

HANGING LOOP: Ch 30 and join at the base of the chain next to the top of the stocking.

FASTEN OFF.

WEAVE IN ALL YARN ENDS.
