The following pattern is my original design.
Please only copy or print this pattern for personal use.
Please contact me if you find any errors.

Bernat Sport Weight Yarn 3ply (I used variegated)
Hook Size G
Hair Elastic
Stitches: ch, sl st, sc.

Gauge: 6 rows = 1"
           5sc = 1"

Difficulty:  EASY/MEDIUM

R1: Ch50, sc in the hump of the 2nd ch from the hook. Sc in the hump of ea rem ch. (49sc)

R2: Being careful not to twist R1, sc in 1st st made on R1. This will form a ring but leave a noticeable break at the bottom of it to help you know where the additional rounds begin/end.
Sc in ea st around.

Rs3-12: Sc in ea sc.

Holding the hair elastic inside the crocheted piece, fold R1 up through the center of the elastic to meet R12.
Holding R1 and R12 tog throughout, sl st all corresponding sts tog.

Fasten Off.

OPTIONAL: For a more ruffled scrunchie, increase the length of your foundation ch.
