Yarn Cozy Crochet Pattern

Fits a skein of Red Heart Super Saver
or any skein comparable in size.


The following pattern is my original design.
Please only copy or print this pattern for personal use.
Please contact me if you find any errors.

MATERIALS:

Red Heart Super Saver-4ply worsted weight (White - less than 6 ounces)
Red Heart Super Saver-4ply worsted weight (Pink - less than 2 ounces)


Abbreviations for colors:
     White (MC)
     Pink (CC)

Hook Size H

Stitches: ch, sc, sl st, dc.

Difficulty:  MEDIUM


NOTE: Main Color (MC) of pattern is worked holding two strands together.
When you change to the Contrasting Color (CC) only one strand is used, except for Tie.

R1: With two strands of MC, ch6. Join with sl st in 1st ch to form a ring.
Ch1, do not turn. 12sc in ring. Join with sl st.

R2: Ch1, do not turn. 2sc in ea st. Join with sl st. (24sc)

R3: Ch1, do not turn. (2sc in next st. Sc in next st) around. Join with sl st. (36sc)

R4: Ch1, do not turn. (2sc in next st. Sc in next 2sts) around. Join with sl st. (48sc)

R5: Ch1, do not turn. Sc in the BL only of ea st around. -place marker-

R6: Continuous round. Do not turn. Sc in ea st around. -place marker-

Rs7-8: Rep R6.

R9: Do not turn. (Sc2tog. Sc in ntext 6sts) around. -place marker-

Rs10-37: Rep R6.

Join with sl st. Fasten Off.

TOP:

R1: Attach CC (remember only one strand) in any st on last round. Ch3, dc in ea st around. Join with sl st.

R2: Do not turn. (Ch4, sc in next st) around. Join with sl st at base of 1st Ch4.

R3: Do not turn. Sl st in next ch4 sp. Ch1, sc in same sp. (Ch1, sc in next ch4 sp) around. Ch3. Join with sl st in 1st sc made.

R4: Do not turn. Sl st in next ch sp. Ch4. (Dc in next ch sp, ch1) around. Join with sl st in 3rd ch of beg ch4.

R5: Ch1, do not turn. Sc in ea sc and in ea ch sp around. Join with sl st.

Fasten off.

TIE:

With two strands of CC, ch 125.

FINISHING:

Weave the TIE in and out of the stitches on R4 of TOP, twice.
Join the ends of the tie.

HOW TO USE:
Insert yarn and pull two opposite sides of the TIE to draw the opening closed.

NOTE: You can feed the yarn tail through the opening in the ring on the bottom or out of the top.
