WORDS OF ENCOURAGEMENT

When Satan is knocking at your door, simply say
"Jesus, could you please get that for me?"

Jesus answered and said to him, "Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God."

John 3:3

Jesus therefore said to them again, "Truly, truly, I say to you, I am the door of the sheep. All who came before Me are thieves and robbers, but the sheep did not hear them. I am the door; if anyone enters through Me, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture. The thief comes only to steal, and kill, and destroy; I came that they might have life, and might have it abundantly. I am the good shepherd; the good shepherd lays down His life for the sheep. He who is a hireling, and not a shepherd, who is not the owner of the sheep, beholds the wolf coming, and leaves the sheep, and flees, and the wolf snatches them, and scatters them. He flees because he is a hireling, and is not concerned about the sheep. I am the good shepherd; and I know My own, and My own know Me, even as the Father knows Me and I know the Father; and I lay down My life for the sheep. And I have other sheep, which are not of this fold; I must bring them also, and they shall hear My voice; and they shall become one flock with one shepherd. For this reason the Father loves Me, because I lay down My life that I may take it again. No one has taken it away from Me, but I lay it down on My own initiative. I have authority to lay it down, and I have authority to take it up again. This commandment I received from My Father."

John 10:7-18

Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life; he who believes in Me shall live even if he dies, and everyone who lives and believes in Me shall never die. Do you believe this?"

John 11:25-26

"DEATH SEPARATES US FOR A TIME;
CHRIST WILL REUNITE US FOREVER"

This quote is from Our Daily Bread - October, 2003 Issue.

VIEWER TIP:
Submitted by Kissy

Hi Lisa!
I love your site; every time I do a search for crochet info I *ALWAYS* land back at your site! So I finally decided to subscribe to the newsletter. *L*
Today I discovered your Tips pages, and I wanted to offer you some of mine. :)

When I making a long chain to begin a project, I put a marker in every tenth stitch - if for some reason I get distracted/have to put it aside, I can tell at a glance how many I've done, and how many I have left! Once the project's going, I put a marker in every tenth row for the same purpose.

I use bobby pins and hairpins as my stitch markers - I used to get threads of the yarn caught in safety pins and I'm, well, too cheap to buy stitch markers. ;) Bobby pins are perfect - they have the rubber tipped end, so no catching; the 2 "pin" parts are very close together, so they don't fall off, yet there's a large loop at the end so it can hang freely and not warp the yarn. I bought a huge tub of bobby pins at a dollar store for $1 for hair projects and had MORE than enough to set aside for needlework purposes only.

The hairpins I usually use to denote a large number of stitches - say I'm marking my stitches every tenth stitch...once I get to 50 stitches I'll also add a hairpin next to the bobby pin for even easier "counting at a glance".

~Kissy

RE: CH-8 Dishcloth

Hi...I have tested this pattern & found it a bit wider than long so instead of doing the ch-8...I did ch-7...it was just the right size....

Crocheted Peace Filled Wishes,

Thank you so much for the wonderful newsletter. I cannot tell you how much the internet has opened new ideas for crochet projects for me. Even still, the Crochet n More newsletter is something I look forward to for the ideas and fellowship. We might not communicate directly with one another, but the witness of Christ that comes from this news letter blesses my heart. I look forward to the humor and the ability to review with the censor the links and information provided.

A heartfelt thanks.
And if not in the life, I hope to say howdy during a chorus or two at the throne in the next.

RE: Web-site

I have really been enjoying searching through your website. I am planning to try some of your patterns. I will be sure to e-mail you with my results.

Wonderful site.. You are going to be teaching me how to read patterns from your site.

Annie

Wow!!! You have a wonderful website...What a blessing to be greeted with Have You Made Jesus Christ Your Savior? or whatever it was!!! For fellow Christians, this is a real jumpstart for the heart...I appreciate it very much...

Also, I love what you offer...I've been crocheting on and off for the last 26 years...and I am embarrassed to say that I am still a beginner...but am now moving on to more difficult patterns...I also improvise on much of my work...I really love going creative completely on some of my stuff...knowing that there is not another project like it in all the world!

Like us! No one exactly like us in the whole world....we are all so special and unique...made by the creative Creator Himself...

Thanks so much for being here for all of us crocheters!

* My Pet Peeve:
By Cylinda Mathews

My personal pet peeve is to find an error at the very end of
a big pattern. About 6
years ago, I chose a lovely tablecloth
pattern from either a Magic or Decorative Crochet magazine
to make for my mom.
On the last two rnds, after months of
working on this cloth, I found an error. Because these patterns
are in symbol
crochet, and the edge of the cloth was hidden in
the picture, I had to design my
own edging. My other pet peeve
is an
error at the very beginning. If you can't figure it out, or
contact the designer, you
can't even begin!

What's your pet peeve?

HUMOR

Don't Marry For Money...

I take one day at a time unless they all gang up on me.

Doing business without advertising is like winking at a girl in the
dark. You know what you're doing, but nobody else does.

I was always taught to respect my elders. But it's getting harder and
harder to find one.

Judge: Is there any reason you could not serve as a juror in this case?
Juror: I don't want to be away from my job that long.
Judge: Can't they do without you at work?
Juror: Oh yes, your honor, but I don't want them to know it.

A grandmother overheard 5-year-old Christy "playing wedding."
The wedding vows went like this:

"You have the right to remain silent, anything you say may be
held against you, you have the right to have an attorney present.
You may kiss the bride."

"How was your blind date?" a freshman college student asked her roommate.

"Terrible!" the roommate answered. "He showed up in his 1932 Rolls Royce."

"Wow! That's a very expensive car. What's so bad about that?"

"He was the original owner."

Once there was a millionaire who collected live alligators. He kept them in the pool in
back of his mansion. The millionaire also had a beautiful daughter that was single.

One day he decides to throw a huge party, during the party he announces: "My dear guests,
I have a proposition to every man here. I will give 1 million dollars or my daughter to the man
that can swim across this pool full of alligators and emerge unharmed!"

As soon as he finished his last word there was the sound of a large splash! There was one guy
in the pool swimming with all his might, the crowd cheered him on as he kept stroking.
Finally, he made it to the other side unharmed.

The millionaire was impressed, he said, "My boy that was incredible!
Fantastic! I didn't think it could be done! Well, I must keep my end of the bargain,
which do you want my daughter or the 1 million dollars?"

The guy says, "Listen, I don't want your money and I don't want your daughter...
I want the person who pushed me in that water!"
